IN THE REALM OF:1. Institutional Setting and quality assurance: - To ensure the establishment of Internal Quality Assurance System and Development of Academic Reference Standards.
- To develop Strategic Action Plans for Al Azhar Medical School.
- To update the faculty mission every 6 years.
- To ensure the establishment of Institutional (AL AZHAR MEDICAL SCHOOL) Self-Assessment studies.
- To enhance the quality of education in response to the challenges of globalization, and the demands of the new millennium, for a mark of excellence education that can cope with these challenges and demands.
- To ensure a quality standard of AL AZHAR MEDICAL SCHOOL graduates in order for them to be able to compete at the national, regional, and international levels.
- To ensure the quality, continuous improvement, and efficient performance of AL AZHAR MEDICAL SCHOOL, and soliciting community confidence in their graduates caliber that fulfills international recognized standards.”
- To raise the awareness of quality in education and adopts a work approach that ensuring participation, emphasizes partnership, full engagement and involvement of all stakeholders in the process of developing and achieving its chartered objectives.
- To build the self-capacity of AL AZHAR MEDICAL SCHOOL toward continuous improvement of education.
- To establish an Internal Auditing System to ensure the proper monitoring and enhancement of all the educational processes including implementation of Departmental Auditing System.
- To define the formal delineation of the relationship between Al Azhar medical school and the parent university (Al Azhar university) and Liaison with NAQAAE.
- To define the governance structure of the medical school, including the composition, a concise job description and terms of membership of any governing board.
- To plans chartering of the major standing committees of Al Azhar Medical school, particularly those dealing with the curriculum, student advancement, admissions, and faculty promotion & tenure, including the responsibilities and privileges of administrative officers, faculty members, standing committees, and students.
2. Educational Program:- To define the overall objectives for the educational programs to maximize opportunities for efficient learning through horizontal and vertical integration of desired content.
- To define a working plan for the curriculum as a whole, consistent with the educational objectives.
- To prepare a detailed layout of the years of study, including required courses and content, and identification of the resources needed for the delivery of required courses.
- To specify the types of teaching and student evaluation methods best suited for the achievement of educational objectives.
- To design a system for curriculum management and review.
- To design a system for educational program evaluation, including the designation of outcome measures to indicate the achievement of overall educational objectives.
- To help creation of a faculty database for educational resources including human resources and other facilities.
- To plans for the Development of postgraduate programmes and research plan.
- To enhance the faculty contribution to meet the needs of the community, to develop collaboration of different healthcare providers in the community and to test the opinion of end users for the quality of community service.
3. Medical Students:- To help Development of Student Support System.
- To define admissions policies and selection criteria.
- To help Establishment of alumni office, Alumni feedback instrument and Alumni website.
- To assure essential student services in the areas of academic counseling, financial aid, health services, and personal counseling.
- To write standards and procedures for the evaluation, advancement, and graduation of students and for disciplinary action, including appeal mechanisms to assure due process.
- To define standards of conduct for the teacher-learner relationship, including written policies for addressing violations of such standards
4. Faculty:- To write policies and procedures for faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure.
5. Educational Resources:- To plans for providing classroom space and any supporting educational infrastructure.
- To plan for Library and information technology services appropriate to the needs of the school for education, research, and patient care.
- Identification of clinical teaching sites that will be used for medical student education across the entire curriculum.
